Monstersockens finished

Finished the latest pair of Monstersockens last Sunday but because of a BIG snowstorm I was without internet access to email the pix. A partial skein of hand painted Wildfoote was used for the ribbing, afterthought heel and the toe, used it a bit thought out the sock randomly to hang it all together. Started another pair using up the odds & sods left over from making the mitered squares for my afghan, sometime would only have a piece a couple of yards left, used up a bunch. First sock should be done tomorrow. See pix of it at my blog.

Re-modified waffles

Just finished another pair of modified waffles, immediately started a pair of Monstersockens. Love doing them so much I even started a Yahoo list called monstersockens. I used a single ball of Wildfoot from the stash and then all the little bits leftover from the mitered square afghan I am doing, each square is 3" x 3" and needs a ball about as big as your middle finger - thumb circle, I then end up with lots of ends too small to make another sq., so into Monstersockens (aka Frankensocks).

Modified Waffles

When I started on this pattern I was at Sea Tac airport getting ready to fly to Scotland, a friend was working on socks and told me what she was doing. Well I kind of got pattern in a modified state so here are my Modified Waffles.* K 2 rows plain, then K 1, P 1, then continue from * Yarn is an older Opal Lollipop, didn't much care for it in the ball but rather like the sock.

I finished my namby pamby socks.
I finished another pair and I'm currently wearing them and my feet are nice and warm. I received this opal petticoat sock yarn from the sock yarn exchange that I participated in about a year ago. I've been working on the socks a long time and I'm glad they are finished. I started my next pair too. I can't go around town without my portable sock project. Until next time...

Finishing projects

After summer travels I had 3 pair of socks on my needles, so decided to finish them before starting anything new. Discipline. Regia cotton surf are done after being on needles for 5 months, then a pair of slip stitch patterned socks using Regia patterned yarn and the great Regia wool & silk yarn, lastly Austermann step with Aloe in a waffle stitch pattern. So will have 3 more pair to add to winters woolie socks. I will soon start wearing wool socks and then all winter or until mid May which ever comes first. Even tho I have a propane heater in my studio first thing in the morning its a bit cool in here when outside temps get well belong zero.
